  • seeking deaf actor

i'm helping a friend seek a deaf actor for a pilot:

Some of you may already know that I will be shooting a pilot for the-N Network. It's part of Viacom and you can check it out at www.the-n.com.  The pilot will tell the story of two New Orleans teenagers who lose everything in Hurricane Katrina and find themselves living with a yuppy San Francisco family headed by a lesbian couple. The nature of the show is a dramedy.

This brings me to the main reason why I'm writing to you guys: one of the teenagers from New Orleans is deaf. I am looking for a black, male, deaf actor to play the role. The individual must be 18 or older (due to child labor laws). If you know of any such individuals please let me know. If you don't know of anyone please forward this email to anyone who you think may know someone. Also, if any one of you has a personal contact at the schools or theaters such as Deaf West, it would be a great help if you could forward this email to them. It would be cool find someone out there, outside of the usual casting channels, who can play this role.

know anyone? contact me and i will pass it along to my friend :)
